Epoxy Grout — Premium Tile Joint Filler

Product Definition

KALCITE Epoxy Grout is a two-component, premium-grade tile joint filler built on an epoxy resin (EEW 180-220 g/eq) with modified-amine hardener, fine quartz aggregate (200-400 mesh), rutile-grade titanium dioxide, and inorganic/organic colorants. The two components react to form a three-dimensional crosslinked network — delivering Shore D > 85 hardness and ink penetration below 2%, both of which decisively outperform single-component grouts.

Chemical Composition & Reaction Mechanism

Component Specification
Resin (Part A) Epoxy resin, EEW 180 – 220 g/eq
Hardener (Part B) Modified amine
Filler Quartz sand 200-400 mesh + rutile TiO₂ + inorganic/organic pigments
Cured network Three-dimensional crosslinked (post-mix)
Cured hardness Shore D > 85
Stain resistance Ink penetration < 2%

Three-Way Comparison vs Cement & Polyurethane Grouts

Indicator Epoxy Grout (KALCITE) Cement-Based Polyurethane
Abrasion (1000 turns) Loss < 0.1 g Loss 0.5 – 1.0 g Loss 0.3 – 0.6 g
Chemical resistance Strong acid/alkali (pH 1 – 14) Weak acid/alkali (pH 5 – 9) Weak acid (pH 4 – 10)
VOC ≤ 50 g/L (GB 18583 compliant) ≤ 100 g/L ≤ 80 g/L
Application tolerance Precise mix required (error < 5%) Add water — mix-and-go Single component, easy

Procurement reading: Epoxy grout dominates abrasion, chemical, and environmental performance. The trade-off is application precision — it requires a trained installer, not a DIY weekend. For high-end residential, hospitality, hospital, laboratory, and pool environments where lifecycle matters more than first cost, epoxy grout is the only correct specification.

Target Applications

  • High-end residential villas (long-term aesthetic stability)
  • Hotels, restaurants, bars (anti-stain critical)
  • Pools and wet spas (long submersion + chlorine resistance)
  • Laboratories, hospitals (chemical & biological resistance)
  • Floor-heated installations (thermal cycling stability)
